The 26th Ward wastewater treatment plant is located on a 57.3 acre site, adjacent to Hendrix Creek in Southeast Brooklyn. The project involves upgrading certain areas of the plant, which includes the pumping station, sludge degritting wing, sludge gallery, and tanks. The goal of the project is to increase the capacity of the plant in order to be able to serve a larger population and meet the increasing demand for wastewater treatment in New York City.

EnTech was a subconsultant to Greeley and Hansen. EnTech conducted a 3D laser survey of areas of interest and developed a 3D as-built model of the facilities using the scanned data. The model contained detailed geometry of existing architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing features of the facilities. The as-built model was needed to develop detailed design layouts, including identifi cation of demolition items and quantities, construction of new work, coordination and clash detection, rigging and equipment removal/installation, and 4D sequencing studies. EnTech BIM Team performed the entire Scan-to-BIM process in-house successfully and delivered registered point cloud and as-built model to the client.
