STRESS AND DEFORMATION MONITORING OF SOIL, ROCK, AND STRUCTURAL SYSTEMS
EnTech engineers will respond to your project’s need for the installation of inclinometers, extensometers, pressure cells, strain gauges, shape arrays, tilt-meters, and Automated Motorized Total Stations (AMTS) for monitoring characteristics of soil, rock, and structures such as support of excavation systems and adjacent buildings. The monitoring reports will be prepared and made available to the project team to evaluate any potential concerns, as well as to confirm the adequacy of engineering design assumptions of the project.
DESIGN OF AUTOMATED DATA ACQUISITION SYSTEMS AND REAL-TIME WEB BASED DATA PRESENTATION
Construction projects may require monitoring of adjacent structures, utilities, or soil/rock conditions to ensure safety and/or confirm the geotechnical design assumptions during different activities onsite. EnTech has the experience and expertise to design the most efficient automated data loggers. The system will remotely collect structural and geotechnical data from sensors onsite and transmit the data to our office. The data can be presented to our clients in real-time using a data visualization platform on a secure website. This data can be used to identify the project’s construction risks and can be used to evaluate the effectiveness of selected mitigation method.
VIBRATION AND NOISE MONITORING
EnTech uses state-of-the-art instruments and technologies to monitor the vibration and noise generated by construction activities. Our engineers are experienced with manual and automated monitoring of vibration and noise, as well as designing project-specific systems for visual documentation of site activities during a threshold exceedance event.
GROUNDWATER AND SOIL PRESSURE MONITORING
One of the most important design parameters in geotechnical engineering is the soil’s effective stress. A change in soil’s effective stress can impact structures or utilities adjacent to a construction site. Monitoring groundwater or soil pressures can identify the risks when there is a plan for changing surcharge loads, dewatering, or ground freezing. Our engineers are experienced with the installation and monitoring of piezometers, load cells, and pressure cells.
SETTLEMENT AND CRACK MONITORING OF STRUCTURES AND UTILITIES
EnTech provides cost efficient design and installation of AMTS, crack gauges, utility monitoring points, liquid level settlement systems, and other specialized sensors in order to accurately monitor the settlement and/or cracking of structures and utilities within the construction zone of influence.
