Randall's Island Microtunneling

The scope of work for this project involved the installation of a new 20” diameter ductile iron pipe sub-aqueous water main extension connected from an existing 36” water main in Brook Avenue and Bruckner Boulevard in the Bronx to an existing 20” water main in Randall’s Island and the installation of a new 12” high pressure sub-aqueous gas main, including fire hydrants and appurtenances, from East 132nd Street to Randall’s Island. This project also included replacement of a 46’ segment of an existing 36” diameter cast iron trunk main with a 36” diameter steel pipe for a tee connection to the 20” ductile iron pipe, micro tunneling below railroad tracks and the Bronx Kill, full width resurfacing of Brook Avenue, and replacement of the existing curbs and sidewalks.
